What is DiSC®?

DiSC® is a behavioural assessment that helps people understand how they naturally communicate, work, and interact with others. It provides a simple, shared language for understanding different workplace behaviours and recognizing that people may have different ways of approaching the same situation.

The Four DiSC® Styles

DiSC® describes four primary behavioural styles. Everyone is a blend of all four, but most people naturally lean toward one or two. Each style brings different strengths and priorities to the workplace—there is no “better” or “worse” style.

D — Dominance

Direct, driven, and results-focused. D styles tend to value action, progress, and achieving results.

i — Influence

Social, enthusiastic, and relationship-focused. i styles tend to value connection, collaboration, and influencing others.

S — Steadiness

Supportive, dependable, and team-focused. S styles tend to value cooperation, stability, and positive working relationships.

C — Conscientiousness

Detail-focused, analytical, and quality-oriented. C styles tend to value accuracy, expertise, and well-considered decisions.

How DiSC® Works

DiSC® is designed to turn behavioural insights into practical actions that can be applied in everyday workplace interactions.

How Organizations Use DiSC®

DiSC® can be applied across the organization to help people understand themselves, work more effectively with others, and turn behavioural insights into practical workplace actions. Organizations use DiSC to support leadership development, team building, communication, collaboration, and conflict management—creating a shared language that can be used in everyday interactions.

Leadership Development

Help leaders understand their natural leadership approach, recognize the needs of different people, and adapt their communication to build stronger relationships and more effective teams.

Team Building & Collaboration

Give teams a common language for understanding different working styles, strengths, priorities, and communication preferences. This can help teams work through differences and collaborate more effectively.

Conflict Management

Build awareness of how different behavioural styles may respond to conflict and provide practical strategies for navigating disagreements more constructively.

Manager Development

DiSC can be particularly valuable for managers. Everything DiSC® Management and Everything DiSC® Worksmart helps managers understand their own management style and adapt their approach to the individual people they manage.

In DiSC Management, Managers develop practical skills around directing and delegating, motivating employees, developing talent, managing relationships, and connecting with different types of people.

Through DiSC Worksmart, Managers develop the awareness and tools they need to give constructive feedback, Manage conflict, Empower their teammates, Navigate change and Motivate others.

Rather than applying the same management approach to everyone, DiSC helps managers recognize what each person may need to perform, develop, and succeed—making management more intentional and effective.

Why Everything DiSC®?
